PGS 1114It was a proud moment for Gulmohur High School as it organised its Annual English Elocution 2018-19 in the Tata Auditorium on the 25th of August 2018. The judges for the event were Dr. Reena Hazra, Ms. Daphne D’souza and Mr. Ronald D’costa. Students of class 6, 7 and 8 recited poetry on various topics like- humour, adventure and in appreciation of their mothers.  Students of class 9 participated in the Declamation Competition where they gave speeches by iconic personalities like- Barack Obama , Kiran Bedi and Oprah Winfrey. Class 10 students presented famous monologues from plays by William Shakespeare. Students of class 11 were engaged in 'Spoken Word' where they discussed several issues relevant in today's society. The competitive spirit and the dedicated effort to hone to the talent of the children by the process owners Ms. Baishali Dasgupta, Ms.Jaswinder Kaur and Ms. Kawaljeet Kaur was appreciated by the judges and the audience. Principal Sunita Sinha, on the occasion said that events like these encourage students to get rid of their fear of public speaking and become eloquent and confident speakers.

PGS 1857 copyGulmohur High School had its 'Effort Appreciation Ceremony' on 27th April, 2018 for the students of class VI to X. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Amitava Bakshi (Chief Procurement Officer, Procurement Division, Tata Steel) . The evening began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and planting of the sapling, followed by a harmonious prayer song and dance. The students who have excelled in their academic performance in the year 2017-18 were recognized for their hard work and sincerity. The awards were given to students who have topped in the respective sections subject wise and also the first three rank holders from each section. The school believes in the overall development of the students so awards were also given for being disciplined and taking active participation in co-curricular activities and different club activities. Tata Motors awarded the ward of a Tata Motors employee for being the most meritorious student with the Tata Hitachi Award The Chief guest congratulated the winners and wished them luck for their bright future.
