IMG 5232It’s time for the one of the most spectacular, fun filled and entertaining event of Gulmohur High School -‘Horizon 2019 – The Languages of the Natives’. As this year 2019 had been declared as the International Year of Indigenous Languages,we at Gulmohur tried to raise awareness about the different types of indigenous languages spoken around the world, some of which continue to disappear at an alarming rate. 220 students fromtwenty renowned schools of Jamshedpur were invited to participate in this unique inter school program and showcase their talents.Some fascinating and enthralling programmes and activities were organized for the participating schools.

Ms. Kiran Narendra (Head Operation – Drivelines), Jamshedpur was invited as the chief guest of the show. Other dignitaries present in the programme were Chairman of the School Management Committee Mr. Amitav Sahay, Vice Chairman Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sarangi and Secretary Mr. Mukesh Khokla. The programme started with our National Anthem followed by a welcome speech. The lamp was lighted in order to pay tribute to our Gods and Goddesses. The auditorium came into life with the lovely Sanskrit prayer dance. Next was the performance by our little dance masters of Std I, the Power ofRhythm, which filled the whole auditorium with cheering and clapping. Jig a foot, in which different cultures of the world were presented on the same platform by the competent performers of our school too enthralled the audience. The auditorium was filled with a nostalgic feeling when Ramayana came live in front of them in the form of Sanchhipt Ramayana that was presented in Awadhi. It was a spectacular performance by our incredible performers. The spectators became speechless and were overwhelmed when the alluring beautiful old songs were sung by our little vocalists inMelody in Medley. The hard work of our committed students could be noticed under the abled administration and guidance of our dear teachers.

The host school arranged many interesting inter school activities for the participating schools likeMasquerade, Slogans on a Scroll, Pen your Thoughts, The Quest, Young Story tellers, Tongue in Cheek. The Fashion show titled ‘Trotting Tribals’ presented by the guest schools representing different cultures was a power packed performance and received a lot of applause.

The championship trophy was bagged by Hill Top School and Little Flower School emerged as the Runners- Up. The Principal, Mrs. Priti Sinha, handed over the prizes to the deserving winners. She congratulated all the prize winners and said that she was elated at the enthusiastic participation by 220 students of various schools. She also applauded the commendable efforts by the students and teachers of host school who put up a spectacular performance. The hard work and efforts of the Vice Principal, Mrs. Archana Srivastava, ProcessOwners, Mrs. Madhuchanda Sarkar, Mrs. Rumpa, Ms. Minky, the teachers and students lead to the grand success of the programme. The managing committee of the school headed by the Chairman, Mr. Amitav Sahay applauded this great endeavour of students and teachers. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Kiran Narendra said that the programme was ahuge success and provided a learning experience to the students to preserve and promote indigenous languages.
